Founded in 1983, AVON is one of the most esteemed professional recording facilities in Hong Kong, having witnessed the birth of countless classic pop songs. In 2015, it was saved from demise by Mr Hins Cheung who took over the helm and funded its renovation, thus carrying the torch for this "Pop Music Hall of Fame" to safeguard its music archives of cultural value.
Every corner of Avon Recording Studios, be it the recording studio itself, corridors, nostalgic carriage resting area, exudes a unique charm. During the guided tour, which lasts approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, participants can learn more about the studio’s history, its architectural and acoustic designs as well as the many stories behind them, but will also have the opportunity to take memorable photos and experience the daily routines of superstars and producers, like relaxing in the nostalgic carriage resting area, savoring a refreshing soft drink, and listening to fascinating anecdotes.
What is more, every participant will also be able to take part in a “demo recording” session assisted by professional audio mixers. Each attendee can choose a song from a special playlist which includes gems from different eras, before recording a one-minute segment of their singing with high-quality equipment in the manner of a superstar. At the end of the event, each participant will receive a personalised recording as a memento that carries the precious memories of this journey.
Note:
1. Patrons will receive a confirmation email after purchasing tickets at URBTIX, which includes a link to a registration form. Each participant is required to provide personal contact details and the choice of song for recording in the form, which should be duly completed within 7 days prior to the tour to ensure the smooth running of the event.
2. The selected song segments will be accompanied by piano music.
3. Due to venue restriction, wheelchair users could not be accommodated in this event.
