To further promote reading among local
public, the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region has
designated April 23 each year as the "Hong Kong Reading for All Day"
starting in 2024. To echo the Government’s effort, Hong Kong Publishing
Federation organised the inaugural “Hong Kong Reading+” in 2024 and will host
the 2025 edition again in April to June, with a large-scale event at New Town
Plaza in Shatin, Hong Kong, and a tour of reading activities in the community.
Highlights of the "2025 Hong Kong
Reading+" are as follows:
Large-scale Reading Promotion Event: Taking
place from April 18 to April 27, 2025, the event will feature five major zones:
Stage with Cultural Activities, Parent-Child Reading Workshops, E-Reading
Experience Zone, Book Fair of Selected Publications, and Hong Kong and Shenzhen
Joint Exhibition. A variety of cultural activities, music performances, and
workshops will be held, with sharing by renowned local, Mainland and overseas
writers, to promote excellent publications to the public.
Tour of 30 Reading Activities: To further extend the reading atmosphere to various communities, a series of 30 reading activities will be held in bookstores and suitable venues across Hong Kong from April to June 2025.
